Red Beets -anti inflammatory
Red Beets are a unique horse supplement and still not commonly known. They have been used in Germany and Europe since 2003 and unlike the more commonly known beet pulp, which comes from sugar beets and is the by-product of commercial sugar processing, Red Beets are made from red beets that are grown for human consumption.
They are one of the best sources of healthy nutrients and antioxidants to improve health and are an exciting new food you can add to your horse's diet.
Particularly known as an antioxidant as well as being anti-inflammatory Red Beets are great for relieving itching and skin complaints in horses. Possibly due to the natural detoxifying properties which are believed to be present, it is worth considering adding some beets to your horses feed.
The beets are easy to digest and are a good source of iron, potassium and magnesium.
- Powerful antioxidants (betanin, manganese, vitamin C) and full of fibre
- Made from 100% fresh red beetroot - this is NOT Beet Pulp!
- Dehydrated and easy to feed
Red Beet Chips can be mixed in with the daily feed or given separately in the following quantities:

What dosage of herbs should I feed my horse?
For an average size pony (13 hands high) the daily dosage is 25 - 30 grams of dried herbs. Larger horses (16 hands high) require between 30 - 50 grams daily. Exact measurements are not as critical as with synthetic medicines so quantities can be adjusted to suit the size and sensitivity of your horse.
With the liquid extracts the dosage rates are
5-10 mls daily for 13.2 HH,
20 mls daily for 13.2 HH- 15.2 HH,
30 mls daily for 15.2 HH upwards. 500 ml and 1 litre bottles have a built in chamber for easy measuring.
The dosage required depends on the type of herb being used. Please see the products in our online Shop for details. 1 Litre bottles contain 50 days treatment on average at a daily dose of 20 mls

Explosive mare calms down.
When my mare is in season she becomes more explosive to ride, she is also less willing to work 'over her back' which spoils her dressage performance. I have found that "Steady Mare" has kept her more consistent in her temperament, she is also more willing to work when in season. This means I can now compete when she is in season, knowing she will be doing her best for me!

Horse with allergies
My mare develops a strong head flick in the spring and summer. Giving her this every day cuts her symptoms down considerably.
